Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today
I want to be a part of it – New York, New York
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it – New York, New York
— Fred Ebb
Okay, I’m not going til tomorrow, but who’s got time to post a blog entry at 5 in the morning?
My husband, Greg Bear, is appearing on The Daily Show Thursday night, so we’re off to NYC for a quick trip! And I get to meet the Tsock Tsarina at School Products for a dive into the bins of mill ends and European yarns. Whee!

The traveling Monkey sock has been started, in what I’m calling the Delphinium colorway. Now to pack some clothes . . .

Oh yes, looks MUCH more delphinium-like in the cake – just lovely!
I am SO looking forward to this, and I will SO have a recognizable piece of knitting between my teeth.
(BTW, I trust Greg doesn’t have any particular aversion to signing his book? I know I never did, and it always cracks me up when people think it’s an imposition to ask….)

I’m glad the essential blueness comes through for you now.
Just don’t carry the Kitri shawl between your teeth — I think you’d be risking whiplash!
Greg is always happy to sign books, unless perhaps he is accosted in the men’s room.

Greg did have fun on the Daily Show — Jon Stewart is such a professsional!
Glad you like the blue — even if it isn’t GREEN.
School Products will get you eventually – why not give in early?

The only thing that has prevented me from being sucked in by School Products (so far!) is my easy distractibility & 3 kids
